1. Who we are
mooch is an independent open-source project run by the mooch team ("we", "us"), based in Brazil. These terms cover this website and the download of the mooch software. By using the website or downloading mooch, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use them.
2. The mooch software
mooch is free, open-source software. Your use, copying, changes and redistribution of the software are governed by the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). The source code is at https://github.com/wearemooch/mooch. If these terms and the license disagree about the software, the license wins.
In short, the AGPL-3.0 lets you use, study, change and share mooch. If you distribute a changed version, or let people use one over a network, you must make your full source code available under the same license.
3. AI providers
mooch does not provide AI models itself. It sends your requests to third-party AI providers (for example NVIDIA NIM, Groq or OpenRouter) through accounts and API keys that you create and own.
- Each provider's terms of service, usage policies, rate limits and prices apply to your use of it. You are responsible for following them.
- Use free tiers only as each provider allows. Don't create extra accounts or use other tricks to get around a provider's limits.
- Providers can change, limit or end their free tiers at any time. Some providers listed on this site are paid. mooch being free does not make any provider free.
- We do not control the providers and are not responsible for their services, outages, prices, or how they handle the data you send them.
4. AI output and your code
- AI models make mistakes. Code they write can be wrong, insecure, or similar to code owned by others. Review every change before you use, ship or publish it.
- Modes like "Auto-edit" and "Full auto" let mooch change, create or delete files and run commands without asking each time. Use them only in projects with version control or backups.
- Your code and prompts go from your computer to the providers you choose. Don't send code or data you aren't allowed to share with them.
- You are responsible for the code and content you create with mooch and for how you use it.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use mooch or this website to:
- break the law or anyone's rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights;
- create malware, attack systems, or access systems or data you aren't authorized to access;
- abuse, overload or get around the limits of any AI provider or of this website.
6. No warranty
mooch and this website are provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows. This includes the warranty disclaimer in the AGPL-3.0 license. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, code, profits or business, arising from your use of mooch, this website or any AI provider. This includes losses caused by AI output, automated file changes, or a provider's service. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.
8. Names and trademarks
"mooch" and the mooch logo identify this project. The AGPL-3.0 license covers the code, not the name or logo: please don't use them in a way that suggests your version is the official one.
Names of AI providers and models on this site are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which services mooch can connect to. mooch is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the website or download mooch after a change, the new terms apply from then on.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Disputes go to the competent courts of Brazil, except where the law gives you the right to go to court where you live.
